So, I went to leave yesterday and my Truck would start, then die. Had to keep the gas depressed to keep it running.
fuel pump is working, air flow is good.
Unplugged batt and puter', still the same. Here I was stuck, 2 hours from home in the woods.
Several more attempts yeilded the same results. Rigged the throttle cable with some gorilla tape and it worked. Feeling usafe I unplugged the o2 sensor and throttle posistion sensor, and presto! I got home
Still a lil' worried though. My money is too tight to take it in, anyone on here got any clue?
It's an 02 Dodge truck, 318 motor, auto trans.

If you unplugged the both of them and it ran fine, you could plug one in, and see if that's the problem, then unplug it and plug in the other. Which ever makes it not run would be your problem. Also may wanna check your fuel filter.

Should have been a bit more specific. I then re plugged all the sensors back up??
I'm at a loss really. Thanks, I'd thought about the filter, seems like it wouldn't have ran at all though. The truck worked fine all the way home.

If you can get the truck to Advanced Auto, or a similar parts store, they gotta computer they can bring out and plug into your truck inthe parking lot........and run a Diagnostic test then and there, don't cost anything either. Could be a good thing to try.

Thanks, thru further research I think I may have a discharging battery, and thats the root of evil. Giving it gas sends more charge to the batt via alternator, thus the truck stays running? once the battery charges a bit it's fine until it sits for a while? Maybe?
I've read the Dodge is notorious for this issue, also weak battery affects all the electronics like the o2 sensor, and the TPS.

YOU RIGHT ABOUT THAT AS WELL. HAVING A DEAD CELL IN THE BATTERY COULD CAUSE AN ISSUE OF THIS AS WELL. YOU CAN TAKE THE BATTERY TO ABOUT ANY PARTS STORE AS WELL AND THEY CAN TEST IT FOR YOU AS WELL FREE OF CHARGE.
